Day 1

Khao Tha Kian Ngo Viewpoint
This viewpoint is on Highway No. 2258, some 13 km from Khao Kho town. It offers a 360-degree panoramic view of the countrywide. Many visitors prefer to camp out here for the sunrise and early morning fog in the surrounding valleys.

Khao Tha Kian Ngo was the site of many fierce battles between government troops and the communist insurgents whose stronghold was located in the mountainous Khao Kho area. It is now a popular viewpoint from where you can see numerous hills and mountain ranges nearby.

Accommodation and camping sites are available, but we recommend you prepare your own food supplies.
Location: Tambon Nong Mae Na, Amphoe Khao Kho, Phetchabun

Khao Kho Viewpoint

This is another hugely popular viewpoint, especially for the sunset. In fact, you can visit this site all-year round though the cool season is the ideal time to take in those “misty scenes”

It is some 16 km from the Khao Tha Kian Ngo Viewpoint on a narrow unpaved road. Please be cautious while driving.
Location: Tambon Nong Mae Na, Amphoe Khao Kho, Phetchabun

Chedi Kanchanaphisek

The chedi is some 2 km from the Khao Kho Viewpoint on Highway No. 2196 and about the same distance if you are coming from Khao Kho town.
Its style is a mixture of the Sukhothai, Ayutthaya and Rattanakosin architecture.

This white chedi is enshrined with Buddha relics from Sri Lanka, which were donated by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great after the end of the communist insurgency in Thailand.
Location: Mu 4, Ban Kongniam, Tambon Khao Kho, Amphoe Khao Kho, Phetchabun

The strawberry farm is located in the Lisu hilltribe village of Ban Phetchdam, some 8 km from Chedi Kanchanaphisek. From here, you will enjoy the best view of Khao Kho’s famous wind turbines. Besides its main produce, the Farm draws visitors for its fields of temperate flowers; such as, Verbena, Hollyhock and French marigold.

The farm features local food stalls, a restaurant and cafes.

The temple is home to a unique vihara of 5 seated Buddha images layered from the largest at the back to the smallest at the front.
